Vacation Pointers That You Need to Know
At one point or another, for sure, you've taken a vacation or trips all alone or with your family and friends. For sure as well, you know the basic steps you need to take to have smooth and cheap flights. The usual bookings and reservations top the list to these basic steps. Of course, you need to properly and wisely book a flight to an airline that can give you a discount without sacrificing the quality of the flight. Obviously, you also need to find a place- hotel, motel, B&B's, apartments, rentals and the likes- for accommodations and lodging. If you have the means to splurge then go book a room or several rooms (if you're traveling with company) at hotels. If you're on a thrift mode then you can always find a clean, safe and comfortable lodging place online or at travel guide books and agencies.
Since everyone knows these basic steps, here are some pointers and tips that every traveler knows but most of the time overlooks because of stress and excitement that vacation brings.
1. When choosing for the best seat in the plane, of course, nothing beats the first class section. If the budget won't allow the first class cabin, you may want to get the seat nearest to the wings for comfort and convenience. If you're not that sure in riding planes, you may want to take the seat nearest the emergency exit. It may sound silly but if it can give you peace of mind then there's nothing to be ashamed for.
2. If you're taking a vacation outside your country, make sure that you change your money to the local currency of your travel destination. This way you won't have a hard time paying the cabs and the restaurants on your vacation place. Once you have the local currency make sure to separate them with your wallet. Find another purse to put the local money so you won't need to dig for your wallet with credit cards. This way you don't need to worry if some thieves are lurking and waiting the chance to grab your money.
3. Sometimes renting a car can be advantageous to you and your company. But oftentimes it has major drawbacks as well. Possibly the best advantage of renting a car when traveling is the comfort that you and your travel mates can get. You don't need to ride cabs, buses and trains. You only need to get inside the car and you're good to go. However, car rentals can be quite expensive. It can chunk a large amount in your budget. Another thing is if the rental doesn't have a designated driver then you and your company will have a hard time navigating the city. So before making a car rental reservation, make sure that you and your friends think about it.
4. There's nothing wrong with being naïve especially if you're a first time traveler. What's not right is to let your naivety gets the better of you. If you need to know something, go ahead and ask for directions. You can ask the personnel at the hotel or the locals. To enjoy your vacation, you have to take risks as well.
